Sellers missed a good selling winter! Buyers bought!

No matter how many times I have told certain Sellers that winter is a good time to be on the market - they are stuck in the belief that "season" is a better time and they hold off and wait. I also tell the Sellers that inventory is down in the winter (because other sellers drink the same cool-aid and keep their homes off the market) and that helps the Sellers who listen stand out.

Finally, the media is catching on to what I've been saying for the past three winters! Sellers who didn't listen have already missed out. Is it the blonde hair or what? I really do know my market and what I'm talking about. :)

Here's the reason for more sales in the winter: Buyers think it's "off-season" so they are buying in the winter. When in fact, it's the other way around now and the inventory is less.

I'm sorry you missed out! I told you so!

But, no worries - it is still SUPER BUSY! Working on 3 contracts this week!!! And many showings coming up.

This beautiful New Year's Day 2012 is going to sink into freezing temperatures over the rest of the week. Highs of 32 and 30! Lows of 13 to 20! The good news is... freezing temperatures for a few days in a row will significantly help decrease the amount of mosquitoes and ticks/fleas in the summer! So, let's not complain, bundle up, and know this will benefit us come summer! It's tough on our water pipes, so make sure you have the water off or dropping, lights on in well houses, etc. All this cold and NO snow predicted. Locals have said it would be a mild winter for snow, but you never know. Mother Nature has her own plans! Stay warm! Remember to take extra care of your outdoor pets!

Deer at night in the snow

It's getting dark, but you can see the deer in the snow and their little eyes lighting up from my flash. I took this tonight in Trackrock area of Blairsville, GA. Not much traffic down that road so I stopped and rolled the window down. I was talking to them and they stopped and listened, but ran when the flash went off.
Snow in the moonlight is one of my favorite things in the mountains!!!

Florida is the only state without snow in this country right now (the lower 48). Being from South Florida, there was an artist "Christo" that put pink vinyl around the islands scattered throughout the Keys and it was beautiful. Here, nature does the same display without any hazard to the environment. Some people want to purchase lake front where the lake levels don't change. I think that's like living in a place without seasons. In the winter, when the lake is lowered a little bit, you get these spectacular scenes of white islands, you can see the animals come take a drink. It was still snowing a little bit, but most of the roads are clear. Love it!

These gorgeous lillies with pine branches were a gift to me from a Seller with a note that said "Thank you for getting it done". It's not easy these days, folks. The banks are under FDIC regulations, many of the rules have changed or change on a daily basis. You can get deals, but you may get some grey hair on the way. Yet, I AM SO BLESSED, because rather than complaints or impatience or blame, I received Gratitude which shows the character and core values of the people in this area and that is why I love living here and love helping other people live here!
